The U.S. Mission in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Housing Clerk in the General Service Office.

Opening Date : August 22, 2023

Work Schedule : Full-time (40 hours/week)
SALARY : *Ordinarily Resident (OR) : CFA 8,824,957 p.a. (Starting Salary)
(Position Grade : FSN-06)

ALL ORDINARILY RESIDENT (OR) APPLICANTS (See Appendix for definition) MUST HAVE THE REQUIRED WORK AND/OR RESIDENCY PERMITS TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR CONSIDERATION.

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION :

The Housing clerk position serves as the housing subject matter expert and advisor on repairs and maintenance issues in all United States Government lease provided housing. The incumbent serves as the point of contact with landlords’ contractors, embassy technicians, and tenants to make sure that work is completed on time and in accordance with embassy residential standards. The Housing Clerk also routes and tracks customer service requests via MyServices database, maintains real property application (RPA).

The position also provides a range of administrative support services for the General Services Office. Incumbent coordinate with FM, Property, POSHO, RSO, and IRM to ensure that required repairs, upgrades, security measures, and telephones are in place in time for new arrivals and conduct visual inspection prior to departure of employees as part of the GSO check in and Check-Out process to assess state of furniture, cleanliness of houses and make ready concerns.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED :

1. EDUCATION : Completion of high school is required.

2. EXPERIENCE : Minimum of two (2) years in, Real estate/Property management, logistics, and administrative management is required.

3. LANGUAGE : - English : Fluent, Written/Speaking/Reading knowledge is required. "This may be tested.”

- French : Fluent, Written/Speaking/Reading knowledge is required. "This may be tested.”

-  Moore : Rudimentary verbal skills is required.

- Dioula : Rudimentary verbal skills is required.

4. SKILLS AND ABILITIES : Cross cultural communication skills capable of mediating conflicting interests of American Embassy residents, facilities maintenance staff, and landlords. Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize workload and work under pressure. Must be able to plan, coordinate and monitor activities related to work performed by contractors at residences. Must be tactful, yet effective, in dealing with American personnel relative to the status of their arrival and departure inspections, demonstrating exemplary customer service. Must be able to use a personal computer with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and another related Microsoft Suite. Must have excellent attention to detail, be tactful in negotiating repairs with landlords, monitoring the work of landlords’ contractors and Facilities staff as relates to routine maintenance, make-readies and termination. The incumbent must demonstrate exceptional time management and must have a driver license with a driving experience of at least 5 years. Basic numerical kill is required. This may be tested.

5. JOB KNOWLEDGE : Basic local journeyman work practices, and residential safety and security standards.
