Job position : IQLS is looking for two laboratory biomedical engineers. Based in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, with frequent travels abroad.

Under the supervision of the Director of IQLS Africa his/her main duties are :
• Be in charge of the control, calibration and repair of laboratory equipment, more precisely for :

o Biosafety cabinets
o Micropipettes
o Thermometers
o Spectrophotometers/ELISA readers
o pH-meters

o Conductimeters
o Calipers
o Centrifuges
o Medical fridges/freezers
o Etc.
• Develop associated documentation and SOPs
• Train end users on the correct use/maintenance of laboratory equipment
• Maintain IQLS ISO9001:2015 certification for biomedical engineering component

• Insure metrology is perform in an appropriate way in the different laboratories visited, provide recommendations if needed
• Other activities as deemed important by the management team
Requirements/qualifications :
• Diploma in biomedical engineering from a recognized school/university
• Experience in laboratory biomedical engineering
• At least 5 years of experience in the maintenance, calibration and repair of laboratory equipment

• Handy person, bringing solutions, pro-active
• Knowledge of ISO standards addressing equipment requirements such as ISO8655, ISO14644, ISO13485, ISO15971, etc.
• Knowledge of ISO9001:2015 standard
• Fluent in English or French with working level of French or English respectively
• High level of computer literacy
• Good attention to details, precision and dedication
• Ability to empathise with clients and colleagues, team working skills, willingness to learn and move forward
Training provided :

Upon recruitment, selected engineers will go through a specific set of trainings in order to get official recognition of capacities demanded for some critical equipment control (such as BSCs).
Working conditions :

• The position is based in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso and includes 50% travelling outside the country
