Dear Ambassador,
I have criticized you in the past for being too sentimental with your choice of words that sometimes make you sound like the Western diplomats that always flatter Africans. But today, I appreciate your choice worlds that reflect the words that are optimistic and encouraging at the same time. We in Burkina Faso, we don’t need things to given to us. We want to make things for ourselves. We need partners that can help us improve our means of production. We need partners that we can work with and establish a
win-win relationship. We don’t need a relationship that dictate to us what we must do. We respect our partners therefore our partners should respect us too. We want to learn how to catch a better fish not any type of fish. We know that countries have interest not friends. But there are times, decency should be a virtue in the life and culture of countries. We Africans we are suspicious about everybody because we have been through hell with our classic partners. Therefore, we are suspicious about YOU (China), because we know your government is getting too close to our classic partners who thinks we still are their children. We are worried about your government because he is getting the asking our classic partners an authorization before giving any weapons to fight terrorism. We nervous about your government because we believe that our classic partners will persuade your government not to teach us how to catch the right fish. Your government need to be very careful because getting too close to people who have enslaved us for centuries. Your government must tell your citizens not to copy the West in trying to be little or mistreat African people. I am sure your government understand what our classic partners are doing to break or slow down the African-Chinese relationships. Please tell all the Chinese people that we African are not the Chinese enemies. Please tell the Chinese people to stop taking the hooks that our classic partners are throwing to them by using African as the baits. Yes we African, we look different from everyone physically, whether it is our skin color or our hears but we are still humans. We Africans we feel pain like everyone. We Africans, we are emotional. We Africans, at some point we will react if you push us to the corner. Let’s respect one another (African and Chinese) and treat each other with dignity. Chinese people, don’t be like our classic partners. Our classic partners manipulate, steal, lie, rape, and kill. That is all they know. Our classic partners don’t know the meaning of win-win. Because they only think that all resources are scarce. I hope Mr. Ambassador, that you can start talking to your fellow citizens about us Africans that we are not the enemies.
Regards,
Leiw
