The U.S. Embassy in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso is seeking individuals for the position of one Maintenance and Repair Technician in the Facilities Management Section.

Opening Date : August 04, 2017
Closing Date : August 17, 2017

Work Schedule : Full-time (40 hours/week)

SALARY : *Ordinarily Resident (OR) : CFA 9,123,040 p.a. (Starting Salary)
(Position Grade : FSN-07)

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION :

Position is located in the Facility Maintenance Section of the Management Office. The incumbent’s primary responsibility is to maintain and repair the building equipment. The incumbent shall perform maintenance and troubleshooting actions on building systems, machineries, perform preventive maintenance tasks, and troubleshoot all building equipment. The position requires specialized knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems. The incumbent is immediately supervised by the Senior Engineering Technician.

Required Qualifications :

• Education :

This position requires a university degree in electrical or Mechanical engineering field. Competency test to determine skills may be required.

● Work Experience :
Minimum of three (3) years of field experience in the operation and maintenance of electro-mechanical systems is required. The experience may be gained as a result of performing general maintenance on building systems and equipment.
• Language Proficiency :
Level IV (Fluent) French reading/writing/speaking is required ;
Level III (Good working knowledge) English reading/writing/speaking is required.
English language skill will be tested.

• Job Knowledge :
The incumbent shall possess job knowledge to include computer literacy,
strong math and the ability to use measurement tools. Must have expert working knowledge of building mechanical and electrical systems, direct digital control technology, devices and sequence of controls.

• Skills and Abilities :
The incumbent shall have the skills and abilities in the following areas : testing mechanical and electrical components and taking equipment readings with various meters, hand tools, power tools, and specialty tools to determine appropriate system errors. These will be tested.
