RESIDENTIAL SECURITY EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN
The U.S. Mission in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Residential Security Equipment Technician in the Regional Security Office.

Opening Date : November 10, 2020
Closing Date : November 24, 2020

Work Schedule : Full-time (40 hours/week)
SALARY : *Ordinarily Resident (OR) : CFA 7,271,427 p.a. (Starting Salary)
(Position Grade : FSN-05)

ALL ORDINARILY RESIDENT (OR) APPLICANTS (See Appendix for definition) MUST HAVE THE REQUIRED WORK AND/OR RESIDENCY PERMITS TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR CONSIDERATION.

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION :

Under the supervision of the Residential Security Coordinator, the employee is responsible for supporting post’s residential security program. The employee is a technician working for RSO and facilitating with GSO, Facilities Management, and landlords ; conducting technical residential security upgrades, surveys and repairs prior to and throughout occupancy. The employee has no supervisory responsibilities over direct hires ; however, on occasion the employee will supervise contractors to ensure compliance with DS standards and post’s Residential Security requirements. The employee will be required to respond outside of regular duty hours to emergencies related to residential security equipment

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED :

1. EDUCATION : Completion of primary school (CEP) is required.

2. EXPERIENCE : At least one year of experience in a security or technical/engineering related field, such as installing, repairing, and maintaining security equipment or other hardware and electronics, conducting site security surveys, conducting residential security surveys, or other positions involving professional responsibility within security management and support is required.

3. LANGUAGE English-Limited knowledge, reading/speaking/writing is required. French-Good working knowledge, Reading/Writing/Speaking is required. This may be tested.

4. SKILLS AND ABILITIES : Interpersonal and customer service skills are required, ability to communicate verbally and in writing is required. Ability to utilize Microsoft Word, spreadsheets, and other basic computer skills are required. Ability to utilize digital cameras and GPS equipment is required. Must hold and maintain a valid driver’s license. This may be tested.

5. JOB KNOWLEDGE : Knowledge of procedures related to residential security concepts, principles, and techniques.
