BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION : This is one of janitor positions located in the Facility Management section (FAC) of the Management Office. The day-to-day supervision is provided by the Janitorial Supervisor, Cleaning duties are assigned daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual schedules. Duties will be performed in various buildings on the US Embassy compound and include occasional work at government owned or leased properties throughout the city QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED : 1. EDUCATION : Completion of primary school education is required. 3. LANGUAGE : Level II French (Limited knowledge) reading /speaking/writing is required. Level I English (Rudimentary) reading /speaking/writing is required. These may be tested. 4. SKILLS AND ABILITIES : To be able to perform all aspects of the cleaning required, to the highest standard, in office and residential properties. Must be able to work on teams, follow instructions, and possess the ability to work independent and unsupervised. Good customer service skills are also essential. Must be able to use all cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment. Must be able to stand, bend, kneel, and walk. Must be able to lift 10 kilos. These may be tested 5. JOB KNOWLEDGE : Knowledge of standard methods, practices, tools, and equipment of the janitorial service. Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety rules. Knowledge of the proper use of chemicals.
