mardi 15 mai 2018.The U.S. Mission in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Maintenance Mechanic in the Facility Maintenance Section. Opening Date : May 09, 2018 ALL ORDINARILY RESIDENT (OR) APPLICANTS (See Appendix for definition) MUST HAVE THE REQUIRED WORK AND/OR RESIDENCY PERMITS TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR CONSIDERATION. BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION : Under the general supervision of the Residential Maintenance Supervisor, as directed by the Facility Manager, the incumbent performs maintenance and repair work at the journeyman level, ensuring all work is done in compliance with SHEM regulations. The incumbent installs, maintains, and repairs pumps, water filters, appliances, fire extinguishers, team power tools, smoke & CO detectors, and safety signage. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED : 1. EDUCATION : Completion of secondary school through 10th grade plus trade school training in the field of construction i.e. : plumbing, electrical, AC mechanics is required. 2. EXPERIENCE : Five years hands-on working experience at the journeyman level in construction, maintenance, or repair is required. 3. LANGUAGE : Level III English and Level III French. This will be tested. 5. JOB KNOWLEDGE : Must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of electricity, construction & maintenance procedures, and building materials, Must understand and abide by local laws and safety procedures in work related areas.
