JOB ANNOUNCEMENT : Recruitment of the Access Program Coordinator.

The American Language Center at New Dawn University is seeking candidates for the recruitment of the Access Program Coordinator.

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Courses, the Access Program Coordinator participates in the planning, development, implementation and administration for the American Language Center by providing administrative support, reporting and coordination of events regarding the Access Program.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

1. Education
A Bachelor degree or its equivalent in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL), Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL), Linguistics, or Language/Literacy Education in English, with EFL/ESL endorsement or EFL/ESL certification is required.

2. Prior Work Experience
Five years of TEFL or TESL teaching and teacher development experience ; at least three years of experience as a manager and supervisor of teaching staff.

3. Knowledge
A thorough knowledge of teaching English as a foreign language to secondary school and/or post-secondary school-level and/or adult-level student audiences is required. Must have knowledge of communicative teaching methodologies in TEFL. Must have knowledge in effective human resource management and team building strategies. A good range of contacts in academic institutions both secondary and tertiary. Knowledge of local protocol customs.

4. Skills and Abilities
Computer word processing and data processing skills required. Ability to use Microsoft operating systems required. Basic ability to use E-mail and Internet required. Ability to work as a key player within a larger university structure ; ability to manage personnel issues and maintain a high level of staff morale ; demonstrated skills in public relations and customer service ; excellent English speaking and writing skills ; ability to use MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook computer software as well as Internet and e-mail applications.
