The U.S. Mission in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Procurement Agent/Purchasing Agent in the General Services Office.

Opening Date : December 01, 2022

Work Schedule : Full-time (40 hours/week)
SALARY : *Ordinarily Resident (OR) : CFA 9,820,600 p.a. (Starting Salary)
(Position Grade : FSN-07)

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION :

This position is in the Procurement Section of the General Services Office. This position performs pre-award and post-award procurement and contracting functions for all services, supply, and construction contracts. The total procurement transaction estimates at 10 million dollars a year. Incumbent is responsible for following all appropriate Department guidance in the execution of post’s procurement program and is under supervision of the Procurement Supervisor ; overall supervision is provided by the General Services Officer.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED :

1. EDUCATION : Completion of secondary school (BAC) is required.

2. EXPERIENCE : Two years’ experience in procurement is required.

3. LANGUAGE : English - Good working knowledge Reading/Writing/Speaking is required.

French- Good working knowledge Reading/Writing/Speaking is required. This may be tested.

4. SKILLS AND ABILITIES :

• Must have level II typing (40w.p.m.) and speed and accuracy is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft suite. Must possess a valid driving license. Category “B" Driving license. This may be tested.

5. JOB KNOWLEDGE :

• Must have a good knowledge of local market practices and suppliers. Must have good working knowledge of the catalog library, internet, and other sources of offshore vendors.
