The U.S. Mission in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Automotive Mechanic in the General Services Office.

Opening Date : June 03, 2022

Work Schedule : Full-time (40 hours/week)
SALARY : *Ordinarily Resident (OR) : CFA 7,271,427 p.a. (Starting Salary)
(Position Grade : FSN-05)

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION :

This position is in the Management Section of the General Services Office’s Motor Pool/Auto-Mechanic Workshop Section. The incumbent of this position is one of three (3) journeymen automotive mechanics in the General Services Office (GSO). The incumbent serves as automotive mechanic responsible for daily repairs and maintenance of Embassy vehicles. Daily supervision is provided by the Chief-Mechanic.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED :

1. EDUCATION : Secondary school education required. Completion of automotive technical training is required (2 years).

2. EXPERIENCE : Two years’ experience in automotive repairs on U.S. or foreign manufactured vehicles, both gasoline or diesel engines, motor bikes and bicycles is required.

3. LANGUAGE : English - (limited knowledge) writing/speaking/reding French is required. Level II (limited knowledge) writing/speaking/reding English is required. "This may be tested”

4. SKILLS AND ABILITIES : Must have the ability to drive all mission vehicles and the forklift. Possesses a valid local driving license. Should be able to use specialized maintenance tools and read and understand spare parts catalogues and maintenance manuals. Basic typing skill is required. "This may be tested”
