WAREHOUSE WORKER
The U.S. Mission in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Warehouse Worker in the General Services Office.
Opening Date : September 16, 2021
Closing Date : September 30, 2021

Work Schedule : Full-time (40 hours/week)
SALARY : *Ordinarily Resident (OR) : CFA 4,849,472 p.a. (Starting Salary)
(Position Grade : FSN-02)

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION :

This position is in the General Services Section of the Management Office. Under the supervision of the Property Supervisor, incumbent performs various skilled warehouseman, supply and inventory duties ; responsible for the maintenance/cleanliness of the warehouse and surrounding compound ; drives government-owned vehicles (GOV) in support of the mission.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED :

1. EDUCATION : Completion of Primary school is required.

2. EXPERIENCE : 6 months - warehouseman experience (moving, loading/unloading furniture/supplies) or equivalent combination of warehouseman and laborer experience is required.

3. LANGUAGE : English - (Limited knowledge) Reading/Writing/Speaking is required. French- (Limited Knowledge) Reading/Writing/Speaking is required. This may be tested.

4. SKILLS AND ABILITIES : Must be able to lift 50 pounds (heavy items such as furniture, and office equipment) ; Must have basic computer (keyboard)skills ; must be able to complete tasks according to instructions given by the supervisor ; must have a valid driver’s license, and a license to operate forklifts ; must be able to operate all types of material handling equipment ; must be able to properly fill and operate the trash compactor ; must have excellent customer service skills. This may be tested.

5. JOB KNOWLEDGE : Must be familiar with the basic safety procedures. Knowledge of simple hand tools is necessary. Knowledge on how to use and assemble equipment ; must be able to distinguish between furniture/equipment and heavy/fragile items ; must understand proper storage/stacking methods.
